A programmer at eleven, in a town with no room for one
Ahmed Saied — known to friends and clients as Saiedoz — comes from Al-Quseir, a small town on Egypt's Red Sea coast. He wrote his first lines of code when he was eleven years old.
Al-Quseir offered no real opportunities for a programmer. Most people around him followed the same path: grow up, find a job, work for a company. Saiedoz dreamed of something else — not working for a big company, but building one.
The year the dream got a plan
In 2013, Saiedoz began the move to Cairo to launch the company. He wasn't just taking freelance work anymore — he was travelling back and forth to the capital, scouting locations for the business and meeting the people who might build it with him.
Those trips confirmed what he already believed: Egypt was full of energetic, gifted young people who could change the way people deal with their everyday challenges — helping entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground, and helping ordinary people get past the obstacles in their daily lives.
The talent was there. What was missing was a place to bring it together.

This is the core philosophy of Echopus and the team behind it. It shapes every screen, every flow and every line of code we write. Not less for the sake of less — less, so that what remains actually works.
Alone in the city, building
Building that place meant leaving home. Saiedoz settled in Cairo on his own, far from his family and the quiet of the coast, to turn a dream he had carried since childhood into a company.
He lived alone in one of the largest cities in the world, carrying the work, the doubts and the responsibility himself. There were no shortcuts — just long days, learning by doing, and a refusal to add anything that didn’t need to be there.
Echopus was born out of that time: lean from day one, and built on conviction.
